To maintain effective and efficient use of school facilities, to maintain a safe environment, to provide clean, well-maintained facilities, to protect the investment in facilities, and to plan for improved and/or expanded facilities.
A SNAPSHOT OF OUR DEPARTMENT
The Buildings and Grounds Department of the Board of Education consists of fifty-five full-time supervisory, maintenance and custodial employees, and up to fourteen part-time seasonal custodians. This department is charged with school safety, school maintenance and operation, and, in conjunction with the Town Council, capital improvement of school facilities totaling over 900,000 sq. ft. of building space and housing 7,000 adults and students.BRINGING OUR SCHOOLS INTO CODE COMPLIANCE
